Fotobabble - for making your photos talk

Bubblesnaps - for adding dialogue balloons to your photos

Vocaroo - sending audio email

Bubblus - brainstorming/mind mapping tool, also used for making family trees, math fact families, and whatever else little ones dream up!

Storybird
 - gorgeous professional artwork for creating online books

Wordle - makes beautiful word clouds

Tagxedo - makes word clouds in shapes

Bunny Keyboarding
 - this is the first site I use - simple and fun

Big Brown Bear Keyboarding - this is the 2nd site I use with my first graders - they love this!

Cup Stacking Keyboarding
 - this is trickier, and you have to find the keys faster.

Burst the Bubble - this is the fastest paced keyboarding site

Comic Life is an app on the MLTI image that is great for making class posters.

Mind Node is also an app on the MLTI image and is great for brainstorming/mind mapping

online citizen science platforms for learning

Full house at the citizen science session this morning focused on the Vital Signs (http://vitalsignsme.org) and Project NOAH (http://projectnoah.org) platforms. Lots of interest in connecting students' science learning to nature, to real research questions, and to the scientific community!

Math Scribe Blog Session

Photo
We had a great chat about how to engage the students in a scribe blog.
Cathy and Tom showed their scribe blogs and then the group chatted
about how to make it more engaging for the students. Folks from many
disciplines engaged in a casual conversation about using technology,
writing, and fun to help students communicate abut their learning.
Here is the link to Cathy's scribe blog. Check it out.
